The Other Wes Moore: Meet the Author

Wes Moore

Wes Moore, in addition to being an author, is a U.S. Army combat veteran, businessman, and youth advocate. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1998, and Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University in 2001. He graduated from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar in 2004. He served a tour of duty in Afghanistan and was a White House Fellow from 2006-07, working as a special assistant to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. He was a speaker at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. He founded an organization working with Baltimore youth involved in the criminal justice system. He has served on the boards of Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America and Johns Hopkins University. He is currently CEO of Robin Hood, a New York non-profit organization that fights poverty.
